'Double-carbon' strategy advocates a green, environmentally friendly and low-carbon lifestyle. China has continuously promoted the adjustment of industrial structure and energy structure, vigorously developed new energy power generation projects, and pointed out the direction for electric power development in Hohhot. A few days ago, the reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Statistics that since the 18th National Congress, new energy power generation in our city has developed rapidly and achieved remarkable results.

The development of new energy generation has entered the fast lane. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the city's new energy power generation has shown a rapid growth trend, and its overall speed is ahead of that of the autonomous region. The city's new energy power generation increased from 1.03 billion kWh in 2012 to 6.28 billion kWh in 2021. In the past ten years, the power generation has increased more than eight times, with an average annual growth rate of 22.3%, which is 5.5 percentage points faster than that of the autonomous region. Especially since 2020, the city's new energy power generation has once again ushered in a period of rapid growth. In 2021, the growth rate of new energy power generation will be as high as 53.8% under the double favorable conditions of 'double-carbon' target policy guidance and the relaxation of online control.

New energy generation accounts for over 10%. Since 2012, the proportion of new energy power generation in our city has increased year by year, from the initial annual power generation accounting for only 2.4% of the city's total power generation to 10.6% in 2021, 4.4 times larger than that in 2012. The rising proportion of new energy generation has optimized the power generation structure.

The installed capacity of new energy accounts for more than 20%. In the past ten years, the installed scale and proportion of new energy power generation in our city have continued to expand. In particular, the realization of hydropower and garbage power generation from scratch, as well as the gradual expansion of wind power generation and solar photovoltaic power generation, made the installed capacity of new energy power generation in the city reach 3.504 million kilowatts (effective power generation capacity) in 2021, an increase of 5.3 times over 2012, with an average annual growth rate of 22.7%. The installed proportion of new energy generation increased from 6.7% in 2012 to 24.0% in 2021, an increase of 3.6 times.

In the future, the installed capacity and proportion of new energy will still show a substantial growth trend.

New energy generation has achieved remarkable results. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the installed scale and proportion of new energy power generation in our city have expanded, and the power supply structure in our city has been optimized. The expansion of new energy generation capacity and proportion has optimized the power generation structure.

Save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, our city's new energy has achieved a cumulative power generation of 29.8 billion kWh. According to the latest electricity consumption of 295 grams of standard coal in our city, in the past ten years, new energy generation in our city has replaced thermal power generation, saving about 12.3 million tons of raw coal. Reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 32 million tons. In the past two years, large thermal power enterprises have laid out new energy generation to replace thermal power generation, and the development of new energy generation is in a good situation. Its advantages of saving energy and reducing carbon dioxide emissions will continue to expand.

Turn waste into treasure and improve the living environment. With the growth of urban population and the continuous expansion of urban scale, the amount of domestic garbage to be treated is also increasing. Waste power plants burn waste to generate electricity, but at the same time, they also change the previous waste treatment methods, reduce the secondary pollution to the environment, and improve the quality of life of residents. Since 2014, a total of 660 million kWh of electricity has been generated from waste incineration in the city. In 2022, the city's waste power plant will be expanded in the second phase. After the second phase is put into operation, the daily waste incineration will reach 2,750 tons, and the power generation will also increase by more than 70%.

Actively promote the development of new energy in our city. Our city covers an area of 17,200 square kilometers, and the land area advantage is not obvious. Among them, the construction land is 85,000 hectares, accounting for 66.9% of the city's total area. The land resources that can be used for the development of wind power and photoelectricity are relatively limited. Our city actively formulates policies and measures to guide enterprises to make full use of existing vacant roofs, roofs, factory spaces and other spaces to develop distributed photovoltaic power generation. New wind power projects adopt new technologies, and make full use of the space between wind blades and the ground to develop complementary wind and scenery.

Our city actively opens up the capacity of transmission channels for new energy power generation, rationally arranges the total amount and structure of power supply, reduces the operation and maintenance costs and transmission costs, and expands the on-grid electricity consumption of new energy power generation.
