On August 30th, the kick-off meeting of 'China Automobile Air Conditioning Hydrofluorocarbon Alternative Technology Joint Development Plan' with the theme of 'Leading Industry Collaborative Innovation and Helping Automobile Low-carbon Development' jointly sponsored by China Automobile Data Co., Ltd. and China Institute of Automotive Industry Economic and Technical Information was held in Beijing.

Zhao Dongchang, deputy general manager of China Automobile Data Co., Ltd., said in his speech that it is of great significance to carry out the control of hydrofluorocarbons in the automobile industry, and the reasonable and applicable alternative technology is the first condition to achieve the reduction of hydrofluorocarbons. At present, there are still many challenges in the development and application of electric vehicle refrigerant substitution technology.

Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, mentioned in his speech that the automobile industry, as one of the important consumer industries of hydrofluorocarbons, should strive to give priority to the replacement of low GWP refrigerants and set an example for related industries. The Association will also fully support upstream and downstream enterprises in the automotive industry to tackle alternative technologies, enhance the collaborative innovation capability of the automotive air-conditioning alternative technology industry chain, and promote the development of automotive air-conditioning industry in the direction of environmental protection, high efficiency and safety.

Cao Xianjun, vice chairman and secretary general of China Fluorosilicate Organic Materials Industry Association, said in his speech that the association will give full play to the role of industry coordination, promote the research and development process of a new generation of refrigerants with low GWP and zero ODP value as a whole, and help fluorine chemical industry realize the goal and vision of specialization, refinement, high-end and green transformation as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Ren Jiabao, the consulting director and researcher of Ecology Business Department of China Automobile Data Co., Ltd., introduced the working background, research content, promotion mode and expected results of the 'Joint Development Plan'; Sun Xifeng, chief engineer of the technical center of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., and Zhang Jianjun, general manager of Zhejiang Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd. respectively introduced the advanced experience of CO2 automobile air conditioning system development and new low GWP alternative refrigerant research.

In order to ensure the scientific and authoritative research work of the 'Joint Development Plan', the project team invited industry leading experts covering automotive air conditioning, fluorine chemical industry, air conditioning parts and other fields to form a technical guidance expert group. At the meeting, representatives of the expert group jointly launched the 'Joint Development Plan'.

Since 2018, China Automobile Data has carried out research work on hydrofluorocarbon reduction technology and management policy in the automotive industry. In the next step, China Automobile Data and China Institute of Automotive Industry Economic and Technical Information will continue to base on the 'Joint Development Plan' platform, coordinate the resources of automotive air-conditioning related enterprises and research institutes, and accelerate tackling common technical problems.
