The reporter learned from the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company that, in order to help the consumption of new energy, the State Grid Gansu Electric Power recently successfully completed the first thermal power unit in the province to start and stop peak shaving within the day while ensuring the safe operation of the unit.

At 19: 27 on July 21st, with the peak shaving command issued by the dispatching control center of Gansu Electric Power Company of State Grid, Unit 1 of Jiuquan Thermal Power Plant was connected to the grid, and the peak shaving of thermal power units was successfully started and stopped within the day. This peak shaving is an important practice for the construction of new power system of Gansu Electric Power Service of State Grid and helping to achieve the goal of 'double carbon'.

During this day's start-up and peak-shaving arrangement, Units 1 and 2 of Jiuquan Thermal Power Plant will be shut down for standby before the new energy generation is limited at noon on 20th and 21st, respectively, and will be connected to the grid in the evening peak before the new energy generation is small and the power supply is tight. It not only ensures the maximum new energy consumption capacity at noon, but also realizes the maximum power supply capacity of the power grid when the power supply and demand are tight in the evening peak. During the peak shaving period, the new energy consumption capacity of Hexi area will be increased by 198,000 kilowatts, and the new energy electricity will be increased by 4.356 million kilowatt hours, which will improve the power grid supply capacity by 330,000 kilowatts.

In recent years, under the 'double-carbon' goal, Gansu's new energy has developed rapidly, the installed scale has been continuously expanded, and the output and power generation of new energy have reached new highs. In order to give priority to the consumption of new energy, the group leader of thermal power units in Hexi area stopped for a long time for standby. Due to the safety and reliability of equipment, the thermal power units could not be started and stopped frequently in a short time, resulting in the decline of power supply capacity in the province during the late peak hours when new energy was generated in small quantities.

How to solve the contradiction between new energy consumption and power supply is a difficult problem in the process of new power system construction. In this regard, the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company has made concerted efforts and taken the initiative to actively promote the construction of regulating resources such as energy storage, and promote the flexible transformation of thermal power units such as deep regulation and thermal-electrolytic coupling. Organize Jiuquan Thermal Power Plant, Energy Saving Research Institute and other units to study and solve the technical problems of short-term frequent start and stop of thermal power units, optimize the production process, adjust the equipment parameters, and work out the daily start and stop peak shaving work plan, thus successfully completing the daily start and stop peak shaving task while ensuring the safe operation of the units.
