This year, Minqin County accelerated the construction of a new energy industry system with a complete chain, followed closely the goal and process of 'double carbon', seized the great opportunity of 'building a clean energy base in Hexi Corridor' in the province, implemented the three-year doubling action of the new energy industry, accelerated the construction of wind and electricity base, made every effort to promote the integrated development of 'wind, solar and nuclear hydrogen storage' around the front, middle and back end of the new energy industry chain, and made efforts to build a 'carbon neutral' comprehensive innovation experimental demonstration zone.
Minqin County's wind energy resources have stable wind direction, good wind persistence, little destructive wind speed, abundant land for site construction, convenient grid connection of electric energy, and resource advantages of large-scale wind power development. Especially, there are many Gobi deserts in Hongshagang town, with flat and open terrain, stable geology, gentle change of average wind speed, abundant wind energy resources and high utilization rate, which has the conditions for wind power development.
At the same time, Hongshagang Town has convenient transportation, which is suitable for the transportation of large wind turbines, and the available wind farm sites have a large area. The county seized the great opportunity of the national 'double-carbon' strategy, based on extending the chain to supplement the chain and strengthening the chain, aiming at the large-scale leading enterprises with strong strength, leading science and technology and ranking in the wind and electricity industry in the whole country and even the whole world, recruiting big companies, attracting strong businesses and selecting capital, making every effort to build a zero-carbon industrial park, and speeding up the construction of a clean energy revolutionary demonstration zone. At present, the installed capacity of wind power projects has reached 1.85 million kilowatts, including 1.25 million kilowatts of wind power and 600,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic power.
