As a strategic emerging industry of the country, new energy passenger cars have experienced rapid development for several years with the strong support of central and local policies. By the end of 2021, the number of new energy passenger cars in China reached 7.84 million, including 6.4 million pure electric cars.
However, the financial subsidy policy for new energy passenger cars, which lasted for more than ten years, began to enter the countdown of complete withdrawal. The subsidy policy for new energy passenger cars will be terminated on December 31st, 2022, and the licensed vehicles will no longer be subsidized after December 31st, 2022, which brings a certain degree of uncertainty to the market development of new energy passenger cars. At the same time, the cost pressure is high, and it is imperative to increase the selling price of products in the market, which will discourage consumers from buying new energy passenger cars.
In Zhou Fugeng's view, new energy passenger cars, especially pure electric vehicles, have the problem of inconvenient charging. Especially during holidays, there are fewer charging piles in the service areas of expressways, which are in short supply. Therefore, it is of great significance to give policy support to new energy passenger cars in use.
To this end, Zhou Fugeng suggested reducing consumers' sensitivity to the rising price caused by the upcoming cancellation of subsidies for new energy passenger cars, and charging at night trough is free. In Zhou Fugeng's view, the valley electricity is abundant and the electricity charge is relatively cheap. It is suggested to establish an independent electricity price mechanism for new energy passenger cars, implement free valley charging, and give sufficient concessions to further reduce the car cost of consumers.
In addition, Zhou Fugeng also suggested increasing the construction of high-speed charging infrastructure. Innovate the charging infrastructure construction mechanism of expressways, speed up the charging infrastructure construction planning and operation management of major domestic expressways, solve the 'charging difficulty' problem of expressways, and improve the charging convenience of new energy passenger cars.
