Recently, the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued the notice on matters related to the reduction and exemption of parking fees for new energy vehicles (hereinafter referred to as the notice). The notice shows that from January 20, new energy vehicles parked in urban road parking spaces will enjoy free use of roadside temporary parking spaces for the first two hours a day within the specified charging period, or free use of roadside temporary parking spaces for the second time if the first parking time is less than one hour (including one hour).

The reporter learned that the new energy vehicles referred to in the notice refer to the vehicles that adopt new power systems and rely entirely or mainly on new energy, including plug-in hybrid (including incremental) vehicles, pure electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles.

The notice shows that new energy vehicles parked in the parking facilities (including parking lots and garages) managed by the government pricing (including government guidance price) enjoy the preferential treatment of free parking fees for the first hour per day. If the vehicle is charged in the parking facilities, the parking fees within 2 hours (including 2 hours) corresponding to the charging time will be reduced.

In addition, the parking facilities supporting airports, docks, stations, ports and tourist attractions and the mechanical three-dimensional parking facilities invested and constructed by the government in full or with the participation of the government still implement the current provisions for the parking fee preference of new energy vehicles, that is, charging in the above parking facilities will be exempted from the parking fee within 2 hours (including 2 hours) corresponding to the charging time every day.
