Not long ago, large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects in deserts, Gobi and desert areas of Gansu Province with a total scale of 12.85 million KW were intensively started in Wuwei, Jiuquan and Qingyang. This is an epitome of Gansu Province's comprehensive focus on the 'double carbon' goal, promoting the construction of large-scale wind power bases focusing on Gobi, desert and desert areas, and promoting the high-quality economic development of the province.
Gansu Province is rich in wind and light resources. Therefore, the Gansu provincial Party committee and government put forward the strategic concept of 'building Hexi wind power corridor and rebuilding the western land Three Gorges'. After years of development, the installed capacity and power generation of new and renewable energy in Gansu have increased year by year. By the end of 2020, the installed capacity of new energy in the province has reached 42%, the power generation has reached 21%, and the proportion of non fossil energy in primary energy consumption has reached 26.8%.
With the completion of the country's first Jiuquan Hunan 800 kV HVDC transmission project focusing on the transmission of new energy and the improvement of the mutual assistance capacity of inter provincial AC channels, the trans regional power transmission in Gansu has increased significantly. From January to September this year, 40.613 billion kwh of electricity was sent out of the province, including more than 13.7 billion kwh of new energy, accounting for about 33.74% of the total.
Ren Zhenhe, deputy secretary of Gansu provincial Party committee and governor of Gansu Province, said that Gansu will accelerate the construction of an important national new energy and new energy equipment manufacturing base, unswervingly follow the development path of ecological priority, green and low-carbon, continue to strengthen the leading and supplement the chain cluster, and promote the transformation of Gansu from a 'beautiful province' to a 'beautiful province'.
